Speaker: Dr. John Oakberg (IAEA, retired)

Title: Where math took me in my career (and other places)

Dr. John Oakberg, retired Senior Information Analyst from the International Atomic Energy Agency, Division of Safeguards Information Management, holds a Mathematics degree from Auburn University ('69) and a Computer Science graduate degree from the University of Tennessee. Oakberg was among the scientists at the International Atomic Energy Agency who were awarded the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to prevent nuclear energy from being used for military purposes and to ensure that nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is used in the safest way possible.  He now consults on nuclear safeguards and information management.
