Welcome to Leading Self 

The Leading Self program is designed for any Auburn team member aspiring to become a better leader. In partnership with LinkedIn Learning, Aspire Auburn provides foundational leadership development classes for any employee who desires to grow personally and professionally.

Participants will explore the essential principles of self-leadership. Through a robust and intentional series of self-paced courses, participants will enhance their ability to lead themselves with purpose, authenticity, and impact.

Program Specifics

This program will empower participants to lead themselves authentically and have a positive impact at Auburn University and beyond.

Course Syllabus

  • Analyze the essential principles of self-leadership.   

  • Understand Aspire Auburn core values— excellenceintegrity, and respect— and apply them to daily work.   

  • Apply concepts and practices to grow personally and professionally.   

  • Identify your personal values through self-reflection and connect them to course concepts.

This program consists of 14 classes including two self-paced classes provided by HRD and 12 self-paced LinkedIn Learning-provided content.

The Leading Self program will be completed within ElevatED, Auburn’s Employee Education Center. Classes were carefully selected by Auburn University’s Leadership Development Working Group and approved by the Advisory Group. NOTE: Each class in the Leading Self curriculum must be completed as part of the Leading Self Learning Path in ElevatED. HRD will not be able to confirm the completion of any class taken outside of the ElevatED system.

Participants can expect to devote 12-14 hours to courses and exercises. Once all 14 classes are complete, learners will be awarded the Auburn University Leading Self badge.
