Dean's Research Award
COSAM prides itself in the research and scholarly pursuits of its faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students. To recognize these accomplishments the Dean's Faculty Research Awards were established. These awards are given annually from nominations received from the departments. They are awarded during the Dean's Research Awards presentation in the spring term of each year.
Nomination Procedure
Each department may nominate ONE (1) faculty member for this award. Nominations are typically made by the department chair or in some cases the chair of the department awards committee. Nomination packets must include:
- Nominating letter
- 2 or 3 letters of support (no more than 4 letters total)
- The nominee's full CV
Previous winners can be eligible again after five years, but if a previous winner is nominated, their application must be based on research productivity and accomplishments during the time period from the year they won the award previously to the present. In this case the application packet should include an abbreviated CV, emphasizing work done since the previous award was won.
It is the responsibility of the candidate's sponsor/nominator (e.g., department chair) to assemble all nominating materials. These should be combined into a single pdf file and uploaded to the awards web site at the link below by 4:45 pm on February 24, 2021.
