Title: Nonparametric Regression for Complex Data Analysis

Abstract: In this presentation, I first introduce the nonparametric regression and the varying coefficient models for spatial data. The univariate components and the geographical component in the model are approximated via univariate polynomial splines and bivariate penalized splines over triangulation, respectively.  We propose test procedures based on the empirical likelihood to conduct both point-wise and simultaneous inferences for the varying coefficient functions. Finally, I briefly introduce the recent development of nonparametric regression in functional data analysis.
