Title: Speed-up of invasion in nonlocal reaction-diffusion equations
Abstract: The talk will focus on two partial differential equations that arise as models in biology; in particular, I will highlight the analysis of the qualitative properties of their solutions. Both PDEs are nonlocal reaction-diffusion equations, and, in both cases, their solutions propagate faster than those of the classical Fisher-KPP equation. I will describe the biological motivation behind these problems, as well as the mathematical tools used to tackle them.
