Description: The Geosciences Advisory Board was founded to serve as an advocacy group to the Department of Geosciences at Auburn University. The board supports the department with their time, talents and resources.
Geosciences Advisory Board Fund for Excellence
Description: The Geosciences Advisory Board Endowed Fund for Excellence provides support for the Department of Geosciences through summer research, grant support for faculty, travel to professional meetings, specialized research publications, equipment, technology, materials, general maintenance or other current needs of the Department of Geosciences.
Geology Alumni Endowed Scholarship
Description: The Geology Alumni Endowment for Scholarships was established by alumni of the Department of Geology and provides scholarships for undergraduate students pursuing a degree in the field of Geology at Auburn University.
Description: The Dr. Robert B. Cook Endowed Professorship provides a professorship in the College of Sciences and Mathematics in honor of Dr. Robert B. Cook, dedicated geology professor and department head. The endowment is designed to support superior faculty in the College of Sciences and Mathematics’ Department of Geosciences.
Nick Hood Memorial Scholarship
Description: The Nicholas L. Hood Endowed Memorial Scholarship was established by family, friends and classmates in memory of Nicholas L. Hood for the purpose of providing scholarships for students in the College of Sciences and Mathematics with a declared major in Geology.
Charles E. "Chuck" Savrda Outstanding Graduate Student Award
Description: The Charles E. "Chuck" Savrda Outstanding Graduate Student Award was established for the purpose of bestowing a graduate student award in honor of Dr. Charles E. “Chuck” Savrda in the Department of Geosciences. Award funds may be used to offset the cost of attending class (such as purchasing school supplies, fees, or tuition), pay for research or seminar travel, or purchase necessary class materials.
