Fall Opportunities
Physics Tailgate - September 14th, 2024
Time: 2:30-4:30 (Volunteers needed from 2-5), ACLC Atrium
Volunteer Opportunities: Setup/cleanup, hospitality
Event Description: Physics Tailgate is a unique opportunity for families to explore the world of physics through demonstrations and presentations. Auburn University faculty and students provide a fun experience for all ages before an Auburn football game. Snacks and drinks are provided.

Destination STEM - October 2nd, 2024
Time: 8:30-12:15, (Volunteers needed from 7:30-2) Beard Eaves Memorial Coliseum
Volunteer Opportunities: Setup/cleanup, logistics, registration, hospitality, security (and more!)
Event Description: Destination STEM is an interactive experience and open house where sixth through ninth grade students are invited to Auburn University to explore opportunities in the sciences and mathematics! Auburn University faculty and staff within the science, engineering and math fields will highlight their fields of study.

EmpowHER - November 1st, 2024
Time: 9:00-1:30 (Volunteers needed from 7:30-2:30), Melton Student Center
Volunteer Opportunities: Set-Up, General Volunteer, Break-Down
Event Description: EmpowHER is an annual conference for middle school students designed to promote females in STEM. This event features female faculty, staff and students from the College of Sciences and Mathematics.

Spring Opportunities
Mathematical Puzzle Programs (MAPP) - February 15th, 2025
Time: TBA, Parker Hall
Volunteer Opportunities: Registration, logistics, setup/cleanup, concessions/hospitality
Event Description: MaPP gets students learning about and using mathematics to solve puzzles. Content from various areas outside the usual secondary mathematics curriculum is used such as design theory, game theory, number theory, graph theory, topology and more.
Elementary Science Olympiad - March 1st, 2025
Time: All Day, Beard Eaves Memorial Coliseum and Student ACT
Volunteer Opportunities: Registration, general, breakdown/cleanup, test graders, event assistants
Event Description: Science Olympiad is a one-day sports-like science competition involving approximately 1,000 students. Offered each spring semester, Elementary School Science Olympiad is open to 20 teams consisting of 25 students in grades three to six.
State Science Olympiad - March 29th, 2025
Time: All Day, Beard Eaves Memorial Coliseum
Volunteer Opportunities: Registration, general, breakdown/cleanup, test grading, event assistants
Event Description: Science Olympiad is a one-day sports-like science competition involving approximately 2,000 students. Auburn hosts the Alabama State Competition for middle and high school teams each spring.
Alabama Science and Engineering Fair (ASEF) - April 2025
Time: TBA, ACLC
Volunteer Opportunities: Registration, general, breakdown/cleanup, judging
Event Description: ASEF hosts middle and high school regional fair winners from across Alabama. Several students from ASEF advance to the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), the premier science competition in the world. ISEF provides a forum for millions of students from over 50 countries, regions and territories to showcase their independent research and compete for nearly $4 million in prizes and scholarships.
